Finally!

Jared is back in my life and I couldn't be more excited! We're back to doing our thing 2 days a week and I have that desire again. The gym put me with someone else and I am not feeling him at all. No substance, no depth, nothing that makes me believe he cares- just in it for the money. That doesn't sit too well with me. So with all this I am training 3 days a week which is nice, but my body is sore. Sore + protein= no soreness.

My birthday was awesome- good turnout with good friends and food. There were GH competitions, jungle juice, ribs, chicken, boy pyramids on my front lawn, piggy back rides from Candice, and a very happy Jen.

Went to Disneyland for Halloween- keeping up with our yearly tradition, and spent a few extra days which was extremely needed for my sanity cause I was on the brink of running away. I got to spend 6 days with the people that care about me most (mom and daughter), play in the ocean, relax, hang out with some friends in Newport, and most importantly- experience the excitement of theme parks though a child's eye. I think that's why I like going so much- she keeps me young and I get just excited as she does.

The Cheesecake Factory finally opened in Utah and I think our girl dinner group is trying to go on Monday- if not for sure in 2 weeks for our team meeting. I can't wait! No cheesecake though- just salad for me since Jared put me on a cleanse which means no sugar or dairy- only proteins and vegetables. It's what I need to do so I'm going to do it.

Pie started a new day care that also has preschool, so it is more structured and she is learning a lot- which is good since she is extremely smart, and her teacher said she was smarter then most of the other kids in her class. This makes me happy- it means that all my reading and treating her like a person rather then a nuisance has paid off. Every interaction I have with her is not only positive, but a learning experience as well. The most important thing is that in the week she has been there, she has already made new friends and loves going even when she has to get up extra early to have a bath. As hard as it was to take her from a place that she was for 3 years, she learned a lot there too, but she was not being challenged and she was also the oldest there and couldn't relate to the younger kids.

So there you have it- I am now back on track fitness wise, doing everything Jared tells me to do, I've already paid December's rent and I'm working on January's. Life has always been good to me, I just haven't always been good to myself and that is something I need to focus on a lot more. Even if that means cutting people out of it.
Now for the Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie concert tonight- oh yeah!

The last almost 2 months....

Holy cow- it's been almost 2 months since I posted something. This is not good. Let's do a quick bring you up to speed.
1. I didn't get the job- oh well, maybe if there's another posting I will apply.

2. I didn't win any Blaqk Audio ticket, but I did purchase them and I can't wait for the show Monday night!

3. I haven't trained with Jared in a month because he has some personal issues and had to take a leave of absence, so I hope everything is ok. But I have still been going to the gym 4-5 days a week and I need to watch what I eat.

4. From 7/17 to 8/13 I lost another 10 lbs which I have maintained (going back to the whole watch what I eat thing) 1.25 inches off my chest, an inch off my arms, .25 off my waist, an inch off my hips, and an inch on my thigh. So total I have lost 30lbs and maintained it. Not too great but every bit helps.
5. I tried dating some people and that was not good. People older then 30 are still shallow thinking they can get the 18 year old's. Whatever. Don't have time for this shit.

6. Pie (daughter) had some cavities so we had them fix and some sealants put on- that was an ordeal.

7. My sister is almost 3 months pregnant.

8. Took Pie to the fair last Sunday and got her an airbrused tattoo which she loved and told me not to wash it off.

9. I'm going to focus on me and getting to where I want to be before I look for 'love' cause it's over rated and too drama filled for me.

So there you have it. Nothing too profound, amazing or shocking, just me and my life. My birthday is this Thursday the 27th and I will be 27. Past my mid 20's and closer to 30. I'm scared and want to hold on to 26! So in light of these events, I am throwing myself a birthday party that will no doubt be an event to remember!

My Illness

I was diagnosed yesterday with Strep (were you expecting something more depressing) and I want to die! I was feeling quite under the weather Monday afternoon, but it didn't hit until later that night and was in full force by 10pm. The highest my temperature got was 103.4- yikes! I tell you what, no work for 2 days, no daughter, no food, no gym, and boredom galore really sucks. I miss my daughter terribly, I get to talk on the phone to her about 15 min a day if I can have her attention for that long and I definitely know that being away for her longer then 8 hours is excruciating and I start to miss her and become an emotional basket case! I feel like such a waste of space not being able to do anything. Sitting at home is not productive- I can always watch my 3 movies, but that's not fun. Its a great weight loss technique- if it wasn't so crappy I would do it more often! I have to deal with splitting ear drums, neck cramps (I wanted to decapitate myself last night it hurt so much) headaches, not being able to swallow (get your minds out of the gutter- this is a family show) no chewing, sounding like I am a 13 year old boy going through puberty, I'm nauseous, have major vertigo, vision issues, hallucinations, and the ever popular fevers. This sucks.

I have been having dreams about Corey Haim- yes the guy from The Lost Boys, Lucas, License to Drive, etc. Weird dreams- more like observing then participating. There's something about the name Corey- I love it! I even thanked my Corey yesterday for giving this crappy strep thing to me. Of course he apologized and said that he didn't feel sick and thought he was better. Apparently after 2 weeks you aren't fully over it or he didn't finish his antibiotics....... oh well. I had fun getting it- haha!

My interview is tomorrow and I am a bit nervous. I hope things will go ok, but you never know. I still have to figure out what I'm going to wear. That's the worst part but it's so stupid cause they already know what you look like, so why is so much weight held on it? Note to self: no pun intended.
Well, it's 7pm and you know what that means...... time to try to win some Blaqk Audio tickets!

6 weeks later......

So I made Jared measure me because I was feeling quite accomplished in my continuing efforts of this whole weight loss endeavor. Well my friends, I am a winner! I have lost 15.3 lbs, an inch and a half on my hips, as well as my thighs and waist (oh yeah!) with .75 inches on my calfs and my neck for a total of 6 inches! Woo hoo! Working out 5 days a week the last 2 weeks has finally paid off! Now I only have 85lbs left to go. The most exciting thing is that this time next year, I will be smoking hot! Ahhh yeah! Life is good.

I will definately try to get a picture of Jared soon so you all can see why I am smitten.

Bringing you up to Speed

So, it was a lovely day, I remember it as though it was yesterday. The date was May 30, 2007 and I purchased a gym membership with my sister. Little did I know that my life would drastically change from that point forward.

I got hooked up with a personal trainer named Jared who I adore! He is the best thing since sliced bread. I meet with him twice a week and he kicks my ass every time- definatley a good workout. I leave sweating every time and he is always pushing me to go farther & to do more then what I think I can handle. He also gave me the bugg which is what I depserately needed. Not that kind of bugg- it calculates how many calories I burn each day, and I also log my food intake. It's pretty bad ass!

So since I have started a little over a month ago, watching what/how much I eat and working out about twice a week and cutting out pop, candy, fast food- as of June 28th, I had lost an inch on my hips and an inch on my thighs! I am extatic! It doesn't sound like much, but it means the world to me. When I started this endevor I was completely out of shape- I knew I had to do something when walking up the stairs from doing laundry one day I got winded. What the hell was this all about? This isn't what I want to be. I can't be this way anymore. For the last 4 years I have done nothing but be consumed with my child and making sure she is stable, well, loved and taken care of. Now it is my turn to take care of myself and be the person I once was.

While in Aruba a few months ago, I was spoiled. Spolied with amazing weather, great beaches, awesome people, and imaculate food! I didn't want to come home- such a different experience then when I went 2 years ago. All the food was hot and FRESH! Nothing was stale, over salted, over cooked, and was served promtly. Nothing like you get here. I came back and swore I would never eat fast food, and I have held on to that promise. It's repulsive- it's nothing but a rock sitting at the bottom of your stomach.

What I eat in a typical day: ususally I try to keep it about 1000-1300 calories and I eat a lot of chicken, fruits, some vegetables, salmon (Ausha loves it too), oatmeal, meal replacement shakes, and Subway. I freaking love Subway! I am more concious of what I eat and look at food differently. I don't look at it as comfort when I'm bored, I see things as a hinder- hindering my progress and making it harder for me to achieve what I want.

I was so happy with the small progress I have done, I decided to go to the gym 5 days a week doing cardio for 3 and training with Jared twice. This started last week and so far so good- I went this morning (never done a morning workout) and LOVED it! I had so much energy and did very well.

In short, I went from being out of shape and not being able to walk for very long on the treadmill at like a 2.7 speed, to trucking along on the Elliptikillsya for 30 min at an average speed of 4.2- yes I am that cool! I have even gotten my mom and brother to come along for a few times with me.

My support system consits of Ausha (cause she loves playing in the kids area), my mom, and the guys at work. Everyone at work is on a health kick right now and quite a few of us are changing our habits/ways for the better and we help keep eachother motivated and on the right track. Court even inspired me to start this blog to track my progress (thanks Court) I don't want to be the fat friend/co-worker/acquaintence/family member/mom anymore- and I won't be.

So in short, I have gone from someone who hates to work out and ate crappy, to being addicted to working out and eating fresh, healthy food- I can even suck my stomach in- something I haven't been able to do in 4 years!

Until next time........
